Today, I had the opportunity to work on it again through a personal project which was shot on different cameras. Soon after starting FCP7, I became sick and tired of using it. It had to render files first before I could edit. It took me one hour to do that. I wanted to get on with the edit ASAP, on the same day after filming. But of course, the wait managed to kill my motivation to edit.
I ended up editing my project on Premiere.
I usually work with Premier Pro these days for my news and documentaries work. However, I keep FCP7 installed on my personal laptop just in case I have some editing to do for any other reasons.
I work in the News industry and speed for me is really important. I have no time to wait for the render to complete.
It reminded me that I used to use this software mainly for documentary projects which its deadline was more than one week after filming. It's really an intuitive software. I knew it inside out.
I am a documentary/News cameraman based in London.
